The high energy consuming industries mentioned above are facing the pressure of production reduction or production bottleneck. The reporter noted that in this wave of carbon neutralization, metal processing enterprises are increasingly adopting new technologies, processes and equipment with energy conservation and environmental protection, including electromagnetic induction heating. Electromagnetic induction heating is a major change in the direct heating mode following the thermal heating generated by the combustion of wood, liquefied gas, natural gas and diesel and the thermal effect of current carrying resistance. Substituting "electricity" for "combustion" is the only way for the whole metal smelting and processing industry to achieve the national carbon neutralization goal on time.

In recent 20 years, with the development of power semiconductor power devices, induction heating has developed very rapidly. The traditional heating methods of industrial resistance furnace and flame furnace will be gradually replaced by induction heating, which is energy-saving, environmental protection, safety and known as "green heating". In this field, superconducting strong magnetic pole low-frequency induction heater, as the "pearl on the crown" product in electric induction heating equipment, will quickly stand out in this product transformation of carbon neutralization.

The basic principle of superconducting induction heating is that the superconducting wire with zero resistance is wound into a magnet to produce a strong stable magnetic field. Then hold the workpiece with the mechanical gripper and rotate it in the magnetic field under the drag of the motor, so as to generate eddy current and realize the heating of the workpiece. High efficiency and energy saving are the outstanding advantages of this heating method. In the traditional power frequency furnace, a large amount of heat energy is consumed on the copper coil generating the magnetic field and is not injected into the workpiece, so the heating efficiency is less than 50%. Superconducting induction heating, due to its zero resistance characteristics, produces a strong magnetic field and only consumes some low-temperature refrigeration loss. Combined with the mechanical transmission loss, the total loss will not exceed 20%. Therefore, the heating energy efficiency can be greatly improved to more than 80%. This means that a 1MW superconducting furnace can replace the traditional 2.5MW power frequency furnace. One year's operation can save 6 million kwh for customers. In addition, it can also save power capacity increase fees and future carbon emission targets.

Another core advantage is the ultra-high heat penetration depth. The heating power of the induction furnace is directly proportional to the product of magnetic field and frequency. Because the magnetic field of the superconducting furnace is more than 100 times that of the traditional power frequency furnace, the superconducting furnace can realize extremely low frequency heating of about 5Hz. The heat penetration depth is increased from 7mm to 200mm. This means that in the whole field of metal heating, mankind has finally found a method to synchronously heat large-diameter metals from the heart to the surface. This will not only open up a new plan for the improvement of the whole metal hot working quality in the future. It can increase the metal processing capacity by adjusting the process to achieve rapid heating without increasing the power of heating equipment, which will further save carbon emission indicators for enterprises.
